The MG Windsor EV has been a standout in India’s growing electric vehicle segment, carving a niche for itself as one of the best-selling EVs in the market. Since its launch in September 2024, it has already crossed 20,000 units in cumulative sales, a commendable milestone that underlines its strong consumer acceptance. With the launch of the Windsor EV Pro, MG aims to solidify that success by addressing key demands — more range, enhanced safety, and better in-cabin features — while retaining the core strengths that made the original Windsor popular.
Power and performance
Powered by a 52.9 kWh battery, the Windsor Pro delivers 136 PS and 200 Nm of torque, offering a confident, effortless driving experience. Tested on the roads of Guwahati, the vehicle proved to be impressively agile. The electric drivetrain delivers instant torque, enabling quick acceleration in city traffic and allowing for confident overtaking on highways and smooth climbs up steep inclines.

The light and responsive steering makes the Windsor Pro easy to manoeuvre, especially in urban environments and tight parking spots. Despite being an electric MPV, it never feels bulky or overly large on the road. Ride quality is a highlight with the suspension effectively absorbing road imperfection. It glides over potholes and speed breakers with composure, offering a level of comfort that rivals more expensive premium sedans.
Comfortable driving experience
The Windsor Pro also has ample ground clearance, which adds confidence while navigating rough patches or broken tarmac — conditions commonly encountered on Indian roads. Overall, the car feels refined, well-engineered, and extremely user-friendly, delivering an experience that punches well above its segment.
The headline upgrade is the larger 52.9 kWh battery pack, which now delivers a certified MIDC range of 449 km. That is a significant improvement over the earlier version, making the Pro far more versatile for both city and occasional intercity use. It is built on MG’s Global Smart Electric Platform, known for its structural strength and stability.

In terms of safety, the Windsor Pro is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, featuring 12 advanced driver assistance functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Jam Assist, and Lane Keep Assist. On hilly terrain and winding roads, we found the Lane Keep Assist to work effectively, providing subtle but reassuring inputs without being intrusive. Combined with it, features like Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning make the Windsor Pro one of the safest EVs in its class.
Tech-focused cabin
The Windsor Pro’s cabin adopts a minimalist, tech-forward approach. Most functions are accessed through the large 15.6-inch touchscreen, which houses over 80 connected car features and supports 100+ AI-based voice commands. While the touchscreen-centric interface might require a bit of familiarisation, the smart button on the steering wheel offers quick access to essential functions, helping streamline the user experience.

A key feature is the new dual-tone ivory and black interior, which significantly enhances the cabin ambience. The reclining rear ‘aero lounge’ seats, with their 135-degree adjustability, remain a standoutproviding genuine business-class comfort for rear passengers. Along with the Infinity View glass roof, you get a cabin that feels bright, spacious, and premium.
Enhanced battery and range
In addition to comfort, MG has added practical tech like Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging. These features enhance the Windsor’s versatility—letting you power external appliances or even charge another EV when needed. A powered tailgate adds further convenience, especially when loading luggage or shopping.
Three new exterior colours—Celadon Blue, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red—along with 18-inch dual-tone machined alloys, give the Pro a subtle visual refresh. The aero glide design remains contemporary and clean, with aerodynamic touches that aid efficiency.
Well-rounded offering
The Windsor Pro is available at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹17.49 lakh, while those opting for the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model can get it for ₹12.49 lakh + ₹4.5/km. MG’s expanding network of financiers ensures wider access to this flexible ownership model. Buyers also get the assurance of a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner, and the optional 3-60 buyback plan, which guarantees 60% of the car’s value after 3 years—making it a smart, future-proof investment.
MG has refined and enhanced an already strong package. The Windsor EV Pro delivers a clear improvement over the original, addressing concerns around range, adding meaningful tech and safety features, and delivering excellent ride quality with a surprisingly polished driving experience.

The car’s appeal is in its refined dynamics and high equipment levels.
